Our goal is to expand school screening options through an instrument and associated data reporting structures that assesses both child and environmental indicators, the ESSY Whole Child Screener. In this study, we are seeking 3-5th grade teachers to help us field test our draft measure.

RECRUITING 3-5th Grade Teachers: Initial Field Testing of the ESSY Whole Child Screener

We have worked with caregivers, students, teachers, and researchers to collaboratively develop an draft version of the ESSY screening measure designed to provide information about the whole child by assessing 6 within-child and 3 contextual domains affecting a student's school life.

Study Details:

Now we're testing whether the measure actually works the way we expected it to. To test this, we need 3rd-5th grade teachers to complete the ESSY Whole Child Screener for 6-8 randomly selected students in their classrooms. Teachers will complete the measure outside of school hours and be compensated for their time. We will also recruit a smaller group of caregivers to complete the measure about their child.
